Here is some further information that you can download to assist you in planning your excursion to Whiteman Park.
Bookings are essential for all Whiteman Park Education Programs and general school excursions to the Park.
We request that you speak to our Bookings Officer to book your education program/s at least two weeks prior to your intended visit. Bookings can be made directly by phone, fax or email, weekdays between 8.30am and 3:00pm.
Whiteman Park will devise a schedule for your excursion based upon the program/s you choose, your intended arrival and departure times, student numbers and together with any other special requests you make.
We will confirm your booking in writing and send the relevant teacher resource material by fax or email.
If there are any issues with your booking request we will telephone you to discuss this prior to your visit.
Whiteman Park provides support to teachers to prepare for their Whiteman Woylie or Wheels of Change education programs.
Teacher Familiarisation Session:
Our Education Officer can come out to your school to inform teachers of the programs we have available, and to show off the fantastic resources we have for those teachers who book an excursion to the Park. These free familiarisation sessions can take as little or as much time as you like. An average session is 15-20 minutes long – perfect for just before school or at the end of a staff meeting!
Teacher Professional Development Session:
Teachers can book into one of our in-Park Professional Development sessions. Typically, there is one Teacher PD session scheduled for each term. The in-Park sessions are usually two hours long and occur after school, between 4.00pm and 6.00pm. Each session provides teachers with an overview of either the Whiteman Woylie or Wheels of Change programs, an orientation of the Park facilities, free teacher resources, a ‘hands on’ preview of a selected program and refreshments.
For more details, or to find out when the next in-Park session is running, contact the Education & Public Programs Officer on 9209 6000 (option 3).
The next Whiteman Woylie PD Session will be held on: Friday, May 19
