Pink summer starflower
There is one wildflower species in Whiteman Park that is guaranteed to be in bloom almost year-round and that is the pink summer starflower.
These bright pink-purple myrtles colour fields of heathlands across summer, as they bloom from November to August. Basically right up until the iconic spring wildflower season begins!
The pink summer starflower grows up to one metre tall and is prolific throughout the Park's bushland. The Wunanga Trail and Lookout Loop are the best for easy viewing.

Yellow starflower
The pink summer starflower's yellow cousin flowers from August to January, offering more pops of yellow to the season of Kambarang (October-November). They are not as prolific though.
Despite their name, the flowers are a yellowish-cream, in comparison to the vivid yellow of the summer starflower. The Wunanga Trail offers best viewing of this species.
Calytrix flavescens

This is a much smaller shrub in comparison to its two Park-cousins, growing between 30-80cm tall.
The star-shaped flowers bloom bright yellow year-round, but more typically between October to January. They can be spotted roadside along Whiteman Drive West and also along the Wunanga Trail.
