A tall and slender bloomer
Prolific throughout the Park's banksia woodlands, the candlestick banksia got its name from the tall, skinny yellow flower shape, reminiscent of church candles.
When not in flower, you can identify this species from its similarly long, thin serrated-edged leaves, which differ greatly from the other species found in the Park.
Many nectar-loving birds and insects flock to this banksia, which often flowers profusely. With so many flying insects attracted to this tree, it is no wonder that you will also find a lot of spiders set up amongst the branches, ready to catch their next meal.
