When is a snake not a snake? When it is actually one of the five recorded legless lizard species found in the Park!

Like most reptiles, they enjoy warming up on hard surfaces and may occasionally be spotted doing so on one of the pathways through the Park. Unlike snakes, legless lizards have eyelids and much longer tails.

And while our legless lizards are all harmless to humans, it is always best to err on the side of caution and give anything that appears like a snake some respectful distance.
