Transperth bus trial for Whiteman Park

Whiteman Park / News / Transperth bus trial for Whiteman Park

For immediate release

Visitors to Whiteman Park will now be able to take advantage of a new bus service to the park, which is being trialed from Monday 7 September, 2015.

The twice a day bus service from Morley Bus Station to Bennett Springs will deviate to include Whiteman Park in a six-month trial.

Whiteman Park Manager Steve Lowe said the trial service would not only help those with reduced mobility to access the park, but would also provide better access for the wider community.

Two return services on route 345 will divert each day, with the 9:25am service from Morley Bus Station arriving at Whiteman Park at 9:59am and the 2.25pm service arriving at 3.02pm. Services will depart Whiteman Park at 10.01am and 3:04pm.

All buses used for Route 345, including the Whiteman Park diversions, are wheelchair-accessible. Continuation of the trial beyond the six-month period will depend on the patronage on the extended section of the route.

The existing bus drop-off area in car park 7 will be the Transperth bus stop for this service. Situated immediately outside the Park’s Visitor Information Centre in the Village, it has also been upgraded to comply with the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport.
