National Tree Day 2016
Along footpath between the Tractor Museum and Mussel Pool
**UPDATE 29/7/16 – We have postponed our National Tree Day planting from Sunday 31 July to Saturday 6 August due to the weather forecast. All other details remain the same.
Whiteman Park is hosting our annual National Tree Day activity in partially revegetated bushland between the Village and Mussel Pool.
Our National Tree Day planting is an opportunity for the local community to get involved in the revegetation and overall improvement of old pasture lands that remain in the Park. The planting site is along the footpath between the Tractor Museum and Shelter R, where further regeneration will help reconnect wildlife corridors within the Park whilst also improving the vista for walkers along the footpath.
Volunteers should wear enclosed shoes and weather appropriate clothing, including hats, long sleeve shirts, long pants and/or a rain jacket). Bring along gloves if you’d prefer to use them, but we will have hand washing facilities on site. Park in car parks 9-11 or 21 and follow the signs to the site.
