uniqueness of Aboriginality.
Whiteman Park’s Aboriginal Education Programs offer students a unique opportunity to learn about traditional Aboriginal culture through creative, interactive and engaging activities. Each program has been designed specifically for the intended age group, and focuses on different aspects of this rich culture.
The Aborginal Education Programs are delivered by local Aboriginal presenters and aim to provide students with an authentic cultural experience which would not be possible in a normal classroom setting.

A Day of Dreaming
Experience the unique culture of Aboriginal people by participating in hands-on and interactive activities. Listen to a Dreamtime story, learn about the didgeridoo and create your very own traditional sand painting.
> Suitable for Years K – 3 (can be tailored to suit other year groups).
Exploring Aboriginality in Creation
Engage your senses as you are taken on a cultural journey of discovery. Learn about the Six Noongar Seasons, create music using clapping sticks, and watch a Dreamtime story being told through dance and movement.
> Suitable for Years 4 & 5 (can be tailored to suit other year groups).
Survival and Dreaming the Traditional Way
Discover the uniqueness of Aboriginality through creative and practical activities. Learn about some of the tools and weapons that were used by traditional Aboriginals, throw a returning boomerang and paint your very own wooden boomerang.
> Suitable for Years 6 – 12 (can be tailored to suit other year groups).
Balancing Bush Tucker
Treat your taste buds to a great range of scrumptious bush tucker. You will be captivated by stories of the Dreamtime, gain a general understanding of Aboriginal culture, and more specifically the roles played by men and women.
