The Children's Forest is a community forest to which youngsters of all ages can belong.
The original idea for the Children’s Forest grew out of the desire of a number of new parents associated with Men of the Trees to give their children a living link with the earth.
The idea evolved to the point where families were invited to contribute to the planting of a forest in which all children could share, with the first stage planted in 2001.
With each passing year, the Forest grows as more and more children become 'Friends of the Forest', and as each new stage is planted with native seedlings.
Entry is free and children, together with their friends and family, are encouraged to explore, enjoy and discover the many wonders of the Forest, including giant marching ants, colourful birds, peeking possums and a life size Wedge-Tailed Eagle's nest made of steel.
Become a ‘Friend of the Children’s Forest’
A 'share’ of the Forest can be purchased from
The Men of the Trees for just $25. This small registration fee includes a 'Friend of the Forest' certificate and a personalised tile, which is mounted on artworks within the Forest, for the child.
'Friends of the Children's Forest' are also invited to assist Men of the Trees in the ongoing planting and maintenance of this living treasure, including the annual planting day in June each year.
In time, the Children's Forest will be a place where children can come to learn about the importance and beauty of trees and the natural environment and where they can come and watch 'their' forest grow and flourish as they do.
