Whiteman Park’s 25th anniversary grand finale fete on Sunday October 16 will bring to a close a month of celebrations dedicated to the Park’s silver jubilee.

This free event is set to be biggest and best community celebration ever seen at this much-loved parkland.

The Whiteman Park’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Fete will allow the community to celebrate the Park’s silver jubilee with live music, rides, markets and fun for the whole family.

Park manager Steve Lowe said that celebrations would stretch across the whole of the Village recreation area, making it the largest event the Park has ever seen.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our final anniversary celebrations with the public – with lots of great entertainment and activities for both adults and children alike to enjoy,” Mr Lowe said.

“Celebration Fete will be a culmination of everything the community loves about Whiteman Park.”

“The green open spaces will be filled with fun activities including free rides for kids, market stalls and the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the parks native creatures.”

The attractions that will feature during the Park’s silver jubilee event include:
• FREE rides and bouncy castles for the kids;
• Mucky Duck Bush Band playing from 11.30am – 2.30pm;
• Morning appearances from Fairy Queen Caroline;
• Market stalls and community displays;
• Native fauna from Caversham Wildlife Park, Malubillai Carers Network and the WA Birds of Prey Centre to meet; and
• Plenty of giveaways and prizes!

Whiteman Park’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Fete is a free event, and will be held on Sunday 16 October from 10.00am to 3.00pm in the Whiteman Park Village.

The Park was officially opened on September 21, 1986 and named after local identity, Lew Whiteman (1903-1994) who originally developed the Mussel Pool picnic area.
